Traffic is Cluttering Up my Town

A short update on the town and a view of the tables separated in this video update. I am trying to balance consistently posting videos with actually having something to talk about -- which also then requires me to find time to BUILD things between the time spent making videos!

Classic Lego 4 wide truck designs and why they're ideal for your town

My affinity for classic Lego sets is obvious from the videos on this channel, but making 4 wide trucks is not as easy as you would think, because trucks are supposed to be BIG. So how do make a small truck look MASSIVE on a city street when everything is 4 wide?

Preview of Our New Harbor

Greetings Bricksburghers!
After a long hiatus, the harbor complex is returning to Bricksburgh.  You'll recall that it one of the few remaining "unfinished" areas of the new town (the other being the neighborhood).  Truly no Lego city is ever FINISHED, but I think you know what we mean.
If you can ignore the "construction" we'll take a quick preview tour around the complex.

Safe Harbor

We're still running pretty light on posts/videos, but that doesn't mean we're not working hard for you!  One of the last remaining large projects for the new Bricksburgh is the rebuilding of its industrial might-- namely, the harbor complex.  It will pay homage to its previous versions, which you can find pictures of on this blog, but is also expanding quite dramatically.  Pictures and such will be coming... but for now, here's a preview:

Fire Truck Wash Day

Wandered downstairs one day this Summer and looked around Bricksburgh to see what kind of setups Tyler had made.  I ran across this nice vignette of the firefighters washing one of the engines, so I got out our light (aka "Mr. Sun") and snapped a few pictures.
My goal with the light was to recreate the sensation of a bright-- nearly harsh-- dazzling sunny Summer day.  Not sure what these guys would be washing a truck with their helmets still on...  but check out the rest of the pictures!

Built 4-Wide Tough

Growing up I spent a lot of time in Europe and each time we returned to the US is was always striking to me how many pickup trucks were around.  Pickup trucks are a very American vehicle and you don't realize how common they are until you go somewhere where they aren't.
Lego is not an American company, obviously, so it took them a long time to come up with an actual pickup truck in a set.  We have trucks in several different sizes in our town, but the most useful is the one we're going to look at today.  Click on through and we'll show you how easy it is to build your own.

Hotel Inferno!

"Breaking news on Bricksburgh-TV, we have reports of a fire at the City Hotel..."
That's how you might expect the report to start as the helicopter camera catches a ground crew already interviewing first responders.
Remember how last time I wrote that we'd burn the hotel down?  Well, here comes a mega-gallery of hotel destruction, fire trucks and dramatic rescues!
