Open Wide

Earlier this week I posted a few samples taken with my new macro lens filters.   For under $12, I was able to get up close and personal with our Lego people.  Certainly that will help with our story-telling and our upcoming (hopefully!) movies but it has also opened my eyes to the town in a new way.   Even wider shots of the town have a whole new look:
There's something about the narrow depth of field that the filters create that gives much more depth.  Let's be honest, this is still a LEGO town so "realistic" is never going to be an REALISTIC goal.
Still, the macro filters take that narrow focus and combine their extreme curvature to distort the wide angle lens in such a way that the pictures have a very "genuine" feel to them.  It COULD be "real" if it were real world.   I see lots of potential.
We'll keep tinkering with these filters.  Look for some new posts that feature this improved look.  In the meantime, remember to look both ways before you cross the street!
